I used 5 different Pablo Picasso finishing techniques for this one.

I guess I'm homesick for Key West.

My wife is camera shy, so I had to figure a way to get her presence into this thing. Here's some of her things in a creative drawing.

I saw this scene in the Florida Keys. A view on the Gulf side of Sugarloaf Key.

There's some construction going on around here. This is a cement pump.

If you explore the docks on Stock Island, just outside of Key West, this will be a familiar sight.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This is a handmade paper angel. It was made for us by my mother-in-law. We lost her and Ron 18 years ago.

I'm a little late again today. I had another drawing done but I decided to do a seasonal one instead.

It's always good to see a raft of Pelicans down at the docks.

I saw this in front of one of those small apartments near the beach.

The last of the gnarled tree. This is kind of my own thing in terms of style.

I had to revisit one of the gnarled trees. It's kind of a Cezanne approach with some added embellishments.

I saw these birds while having an outside lunch. This is some kind of male dominance display. One bird points to the sky while the other chirps loudly six or seven times and then flaps his wings noisily. Then he takes a short break and does it all over again. It's pretty entertaining.
I was channeling one of Picasso's middle styles with this one. As before not the proportioning but the shading and finishing style.

I recently visited Jaco Pastorius Park in Oakland Park Florida.  The image in the background is Jaco himself, it's one of two murals of him painted on a building at the park.

Another still life with a creative bent. Maybe it isn't so still.

It's been a little while since I've done a portrait. This is another one of our daughter.

Last go at this figure. I had Pablo Picasso in mind on the styling. I didn't use his distortions but rather his techniques in outlining and shading from one of his middle periods.

It's been a while since I posted some figure work. I'll start with this one, with similar styling to some I've done before.

As you can see, I was in a very experimental mood on this one. I started with the abstract patterns and textures then incorporated a little realism after.
