Finishing up with this one. They're such exquisite precision tools. I guess they have no practical use in our computer age.

A little more structured approach to the drafting tools.

Some of you may know, these are drafting tools from before computers

Here's a different model.  I thought I'd try a new technique this time.

This is the back window to an old theater.  It looks pretty solidly built, notice how thick the wall appears. It also looks like it may have been a doorway that was converted to a window. I say that because the strange wall that goes halfway up the opening looks like it may have been added at some point.

I like the shapes and shadows on this one. One of the old neighborhoods I remember.

Last go at Henri's sculpture. Paul Cezanne (the father of modern art) was in the back of my mind on this one.  I think the composition has an old and new feel to it.  Today is day 122 it marks 1/3 of the way through the year.

I used a technique that has a subtle leaning towards Van Gogh on this one.

This may not be easy to figure out at first glance.  It's a modern sculpture on a victorian end table. I love the shape the two make together.  The sculpture is the work of Henri Moretti who, as of about a month ago, is all of 99 years young!

I had to do a close-up of the squirrel feeding boxes.

I like the way flowering and seeding palms look against architecture.

The neighbors are ready for the season.

Last go at this one.  A friend told me when I triple up on a subject the results are too similar.  I'll have to work on that.  That's what this blog is about, learning and improving.

Finishing up with the torch. I haven't checked, but I don't think the new ones have such a cool shape.

Couldn't let this cool shape go without a few more shots at it.

I went to a warehouse sale once and got this old blowtorch. The shape is so cool I knew I had to use it in a few drawing and paintings.

Back to figure work with this one.  

Yet another animal drawing. This is an Asian Bearcat at the zoo.

I guess I'm on an animal drawing run here.

Animals are always challenging but fun to draw. I saw these at a nearby park recently. 

Scenes like this are becoming few and far between.

This is a drawing of our daughter. It's also drawing number 100 of this blog. Looking back it's been quite a journey and I'm not even 1/3 of the way through.
